Jackie Shope is a City Desk reporter for the Chicago Sentinel.

She chafes under Miller's new supervisory role, complaining that the assignments he gives her are not what people want to read. She believes that Mayor Tom Kane is corrupt but that their readership do not care. She nevertheless attends the groundbreaking ceremony for the redevelopment of O'Hare Airport and interviews Kane about the project. She also questions gubernatorial candidate Ben Zajac about whether he has Kane's support, drawing an answer from his wife Maggie Zajac. She is present when shots are fired and Meredith Kane is injured at the event.[1]
